According to the report of the Ministry of Industry andTrade of Vietnam (MOIT) released on 4 June 2019, thepower generation of Vietnam reached about 60,000MWin 2020 with the dominant contribution of the hydroand thermal power. Together, these two power sourcesaccounted for about 87.7% of the total power capacityin Vietnam in 2020 while the other types of smallhydro plants and renewable energy made up for theother 9.9% and the remaining 2.4% was imported.
